English 11 is the homepage for the EES85 and EES21X classes (AP). All English 11 classes satisfy the NYS requirement for third year English. Both couses prepare students for the NYS English Language Arts (ELA) Regents Exam, serve as a prerequisite course for English 12 and in the advanced section prepares students for the AP English Language and Composition examination. The student population is drawn from the third year cohort (T) of the Richard R. Green High School of Teaching Community and may contain ELL, LEP, SETTS and CTT students. Students are expected to (but not required to have) earned four credits of ELA instruction. Students missing credits must complete them before graduation. The classes meet approximately four times a week for about fifty minutes each time. Instruction is multimedia based with a variety of literary, visual and auditory materials investigating both fiction and non-fiction aspects of American and related cultures.
