It's never too early to start planning for college... 

9th grade:  Start your college resume now! Join after-school programs. Explore your interests and passions. Apply for summer internships and programs in March. 
 
10th grade: Continue participating in afterschool programs, begin taking courses on the SAT and take the required PSAT
 
11th grade: Begin to think of personal essay ideas and begin picking out colleges that you would want to go to and continue practicing for the SAT exam
 
12th grade:  Have a final list of colleges you would want to go to

a nationally recognized program helps students in the academic “middle” develop the skills necessary to be successful in the most rigorous courses and become college ready. RRG students work with Hunter College students to learn the skills necessary for college.

College NOW

College Now at CCNY allows qualified New York City public high school students to enroll in courses that earn college credit and provides academic enrichment workshops and programs to its 35 partner high schools, strengthening students' foundation for academic success.

College MAP (Mentoring for Access and Persistence) is an Ernst & Young LLP signature volunteer program focused on helping underserved high school students navigate the college admissions process and build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their post-secondary journey.
