Welcome

Welcome to our school! We believe that parent participation is key to student success; our new website is designed to provide parents with all the information they need to be active participants in their student’s education. You will find that the site works just as well on mobile devices as it does on a desktop so you can find information on the go.

Class of 2026 Orientation 8/30/22 @ 9 am to 12 pm

Dear Class of 2026, new members of the Class of 2025, Parents and Guardians,

We would like to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year and to Richard R Green High School of Teaching!

In preparation for the opening of school, we will be hosting a morning orientation on Tuesday August 30th from 9 am to 12 pm. This is for students new to our school community. They will be afforded the opportunity to meet classmates and some teachers as well as have a chance to tour the surrounding areas. There will be different activities to acclimate new students to the building and building procedures. Although not mandatory, new students are encouraged to attend to become familiar with school protocols and meet future classmates.

Parents and guardians are welcome too. Our current Parent Association members will be on hand to share their overview and address questions and/or concerns in a separate parent session.

Students and parents should RSVP Lisa Morales at [email protected] or (917) 603-9084 by Friday August 26th and let us know if you will be in attendance.

Students will have the opportunity to have their school ID picture taken, locker assignments and school email accounts set. (Please note there is a $5 lock fee that covers four years.) Teachers will be providing team building activities in the building as well as chaperoned walks in close vicinity to the school. Our art director will be supervising an art project designed to allow individualization, collaboration and self-expression through visual representation and written word.

We encourage all class members to attend and become familiar with our community before the first day of school, Thursday September 8th.

If you have not already done so, please click on this link to open a NYC student account. Many forms, news update and individual student progress records can be ascertained through this account.

Be well and we hope to see you on Tuesday, August 30th.

A Way to Give...the School trip Fund

After the long hiatus of remote learning and Covid, our students really look forward to ice skating, bowling and trampolining. These non-academic outings reinforce social learnings and connections all kids need.

Unfortunately, not all students can afford the expense of these trips. In the past, teachers have always contributed for one or two students to be included. Due to the recent economic hardship of many families, the need is ever-growing.

We would like to create a fund to finance the expense for students who would benefit from participating in trips with their classmates.

Frosty the Snowman Visits RRG

Senior Tiffany Walker wanted to bring Frosty to school the last day before the Winter Break. She knew everyone was feeling anxious about travel and recent Covid news and wanted to do something to bring a smile to everyone. She achieved her goal and to see more pictures of her in action as Frosty check out the school instagram @rrgreensta.
